What we’re trying to replicate:
My Examples:

Tools:
  • ShareX - Screen Recorder
  • Premiere Pro - Video Editor
  • PowerToys: FancyZones - Windows Zone Editor
  • (Optional) Handbrake - Video Transcoder
Guide:
  1. Set up a single zone with enough margin to showcase a gradient background.
  1. If demoing a website, download it as a PWA or desktop app to get the full window view.
    1. If no app is available, hide bookmarks and extensions.
  1. If Grammarly appears, disable it for an hour.
  1. Close all other programs to ensure maximum performance.
  1. Increase mouse pointer size to 5 (this isn’t picked up by ShareX?)
  1. Use the ShareX keyboard shortcut (Shift + Win + R) to activate recording mode. Select the entire screen except for the taskbar.
  1. Record your actions then hit the ShareX keyboard shortcut again to end the recording.
  1. Import the recording into Premiere Pro.
  1. Smoothly zoom into the action:
    1. Effects → Transform
    2. Effect Controls → Position and Scale keyframes (1s or less)
    3. Select all keyframes → Right-click a keyframe to add Temporal Interpolation Ease In and Ease Out
    4. Effect Controls → Shutter Angle: 360, Uncheck “Use Composition’s Shutter Angle”
    5. Reapply for each zoom-in
  1. Smoothly zoom out of the action:
    1. Set blue marker in the Timeline → Splice
    2. Select a new piece in Timeline → Effect Controls → Reset Position and Scale keyframes by clicking on the timer icon and clicking accept to clear.
      1. notion image
    3. Click on the position and scale keyframe timer icon again → reset to default by clicking on the reset button
      1. notion image
    4. Select all keyframes → Right-click a keyframe to add Temporal Interpolation Ease In and Ease Out
    5. Repeat for each zoom-out
  1. Export as H.264
  1. Compress with Handbrake if you need to reduce the size to meet size requirements.
